We publish fast, which means we will sometimes be wrong. This is what we do about it.
If a Nictick item is factually wrong, we correct the item itself rather than quietly deleting it or publishing a separate note. The URL stays the same, so anyone who saved, shared or cited the link sees the corrected version.
A corrected item is tagged Corrected — the first tag on the item, so it is visible before you read a word of the text. The item says what was wrong and what changed. We do not silently rewrite a claim and leave the item looking as though it always said that.
The original publish time never changes. The last-modified time updates when the text genuinely changes, and only then.
A correction means a fact was wrong — a number, a name, a date, an attribution, or a claim about what happened. Fixing a typo, a broken link or a formatting error is not a correction and is not tagged as one.
Markets move and facts firm up. An item that was accurate when published and has since moved on is tagged Developing or Update, not Corrected. We reserve Corrected for when we were wrong.
If you think a Nictick item is wrong, email ksingh@kumarsingh.live with the link and what you believe is incorrect. We would rather be corrected than be wrong for longer.
